This registry is an attempt to locate and record all the grave sites for Confederate Veterans in Sumter County Georgia. Anyone that has attempted this type of project can confirm that this is a daunting task.

Several records were utilized and cross referenced in compiling this list, including but not limited to: Oak Grove Cemetery sexton's office records, Sumter County cemetery surveys, the Confederate Soldier Roster by Broadfoot Publishing, local CS unit rosters, newspaper articles and obituaries, and CS pension records. This list is a work in progress and is by no means complete, but it is the most complete list that has been compiled to date.

If you are aware of a Confederate Veteran buried in Sumter County who does not appear on this list please contact John Carroll via e-mail below and the veteran's information will be added upon verification. If you are aware of any Veterans grave, Confederate or otherwise, that is not marked please notify the SCV Camp and we will help you order a Veteran's grave marker.
